Stringing Pieces

November 26, 2007

Today I am off doing a few errands. Errands, I usually put off because I prefer writing. Errands that were small in the beginning, but somehow grew since I didn’t do them.

Today has to be the day that they disappear.

Hopefully people are already exhausted from their weekend shopping sprees and are back at work so the traffic will be light.

I love when I can drive with no one else on the road. It's a great way to focus on things ahead.

Another form of meditation is focus. You don’t have to sit in the lotus position, close your eyes and chant, “OM.”

This is like a motion meditation, you are physically moving as your spirit is regenerating.

We are in constant motion. Our undulating spirit gives us the strength to go forward, string the pieces together and find peace within our Soul.

Peace is something you can't buy. It has to be manufactured from within. Get it? "Man"-ufactured?

Let today be a peaceful day and may it find you in peace, but not in pieces.

My friend shared this joke with me this morning. I hope it offers as much enjoyment for you as it did for me.

I will be thinking of it as I go about my day of stringing the pieces together.

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal it’s throat was very small.

The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.

The little girl said, “When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah.”
The teacher asked, “What if Jonah went to hell?”

The little girl replied, “Then you ask him.”

Great thoughts on meditation and motion. May we all find peace that is within ourselves and not fall victim to the busyness of life. Very good post!

kids say the darnedest things. i like this meditation in motion thing. sometimes i think driving is the ultimate form of meditation because you are truly focused and can't afford to stray from the moment. throw a couple deep breaths in there and get comfy and wallah!!!

Mark,
Amen my brother. Amen.

Raffi,
..."i think driving is the ultimate form of meditation because you are truly focused and can't afford to stray from the moment."

Britney Spears, Nicole Ritchie and Lindsay Lohan, notwithstanding.

With those stunt drivers out of the way, yes, driving is a breeze that requires concentration.

Have a peaceful day love and watch out for the whales my friend.

Always love and yes, driving meditation is good - I also like my dish washing meditations very much ... by hand, yes.

Peace babe, glad to see you, sorry I've been missing, I'm trying to get caught up but it's going to take a while. The energy swells up and then is gone so I've got to get it while I can...

Hey Ruby baby,
I will watch out for those whales on the road. The dishwashing one is a good one, I do that one too by hand, and bathtub meditation, and, and, and.....

Never apolgize. Your presence is always welcome whenever the breeze blows you this way.

Peace and happiness to you.

Annie,
I know that you are right. The funny thing is when I get them all done, another pile has started.

Alexys Fairfield 1:14 PM

Max,
Like I was telling Annie, as soon as I finish one, another one forms. I want to create an errand free world - - it's called An Assistant!

Isn't that joke cute. I had many teachers whom I would have told that joke. LOL!

It IS nice to have a clean stretch of road, free.

Not something that happens often here, unless its 3AM

Alexys Fairfield 7:03 PM

Crushed,
I've done plenty of composing on those roads. They're priceless.

UBERMOUTH 2:56 PM

hahahahaha. Your combination of spirituality and fantastic humour is
a marvel.

Maithri 3:14 AM

As I string the pieces of this day together, my friend, your words form an integral part... A Moving meditation - that is how I will try to make the next two days (14 hour shifts with little ole me the only doc in the hospital)

Thank you for your wisdom as always... The joke cracked me up!

Sending tender light to tap on your window and embrace your life,

Love, Maithri

Alexys Fairfield 2:10 PM

Oh Maithri,
Just seeing your name doth bring joy to my world. Your beautiful name reminds me of the holy trinity. It's purity reigns supreme. I am sending you a pair of extra hands. Whenever you need them, just reach out and they will be there to assist you, embrace you or warm your heart. My hands and arms are extended to you my love.

Let them lift you.
