Hilltop

December 1, 2007

"The marvelous richness of human experience would lose something of rewarding joy if there were no limitations to overcome. The hilltop hour would not be half so wonderful if there were no dark valleys to traverse."

Hi Alexys,

It is so great to see that you are still going strong and inspirational. I've fallen of the face of the internet and have been completely consumed by my housewifely tasks. But it is nice to know that whenever I get back online your calm and encouraging posts are still here.

Thanks for what you are doing...

Vasilisa

Good evening Alexys!

Nice peice! It is all about balance isn't it, and knowing the other side of things. It does bring on a greater awareness, which allows for appreciation to its' fullest!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Vasilisa,
Thank you.

So happy to hear from you again. I was going to send a search party to find you, but I am really pleased that you surfaced again. I'll call the dogs off.

Welcome back and I hope to see more of you when the litte ones are tugging at your apron strings.

Lucid,
You're right. it IS all about balance. See-sawing our lives on earth. Taking the good and the bad, the dark and the light, the ebb and flow.

Hope you are having a relaxing weekend.

Sometimes I'm not sure whether it's the variety that's rich or the inherent experience itself... know what I mean..??

;->...

Indeed, you only know joy through having experienced suffering.

Helen Keller is the woman of the moment, it appears?

Alexys Fairfield 12:17 PM

Gleds,
I think it's the variety of inherent experiences.

Crushed,
Joy through suffering sometimes, but not suffering through joy. Yes, Helen is the flavor of the day.

That's a beautiful picture. Swans are so elegant, beautiful and graceful, don't you think? :)

With all that mumbling, and hand flapping, I never understood a word of what Helen Keller said.

You're not related to her, are you?

Maithri 3:29 PM

Helen Keller is the woman of every moment, the flavour of every day...

A little like another beautiful woman I know ;)

Unexpected joy will be yours today my friend,

I know, ;)

Love, Maithri

Uber,
I think swans are beautiful, elegant, intelligent, and aesthetic creatures. They way they command the water and swim with such majesty. As far as Ms. Keller, I think she was a swan trapped in another dimension. Can't you tell they way she flapped her hands? She was soaring inside and she had such amazing insight.

Yes, she is related to me. We are all related in the humanistic fabric of life and love?

Alexys Fairfield 4:17 PM

Maithri,
I agree. We should all have the flavor of Helen Keller. Such a teacher of overcoming obstacles. She even spoke seven languages.

You are my swan channeling beauty, divinity and love; therefore you always bring me unexpected joy. Just knowing you is all the joy anyone could ask for. :D

Good Sunday afternoon to you, Alexys.

Having travelled those dark valleys over my first 49 years on earth, I would willingly choose hilltop hours for the remainder of my days, and feel no loss of rewarding joy...

Alexys Fairfield 8:20 PM

Annie,
I don't blame you. The hilltop hours are sometimes far and few in between. Seems like the hours it takes to get to the top are outnumbered by the hours we spend there, but if we cherish the small victories in life, the hilltop is more accessible sooner.

Wishing you all the joy in the world and a shorter distance to the stars.

Lovely photo!

I am grateful for the limitations as well as the hilltops and the dark valleys.

They all have value and add to who we are and where we are today.

Much love as always,

~ RS ~

Ruby,
Those dark hours DO add to our human experience in a way that we couldn't live without.

Much love and gratitude for you my dear.
