The Dream

January 21, 2008

The last post was kind of long and I didn’t want to laden you guys with too many words today, but I want to leave you with something that I hope will take hold of your Soul.

Today in America, we celebrate Martin Luther King’s holiday.

"Man is man because he is free to operate within the framework of his destiny. He is free to deliberate, to make decisions, and to choose between alternatives. He is distinguished from animals by his freedom to do evil or to do good and to walk the high road of beauty or tread the low road of ugly degeneracy."

"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

~Martin Luther King, Jr.

I love his I have A Dream Speech.
It gives me chills.

Loving Annie 4:40 PM

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone lived that every day, with that awareness. It was - and is - a great speech of truths and hope.

Maithri,
May the dream never be far away and the love in your Soul rise to see another day.
Right on my brother.

Alexys Fairfield 11:28 PM

Uber,
It is one of the most passionate speeches I have heard too. Leaves me speechless.

Annie,
It would be magnificent if we would just realize that we are one race and hold on to each other.

It is a speech of speeches isn't it?

Blessings.

Good Tuesday morning to you, Alexys. How are you doing ? Is it raining ? We have it forecast for all week, but it is just cloudy so far...

Posted today about your post/our cyber-dialogue from your Echo post...

Blessings...

Annie,
The rain is so refreshing. It makes the air smell so fresh. I like walking in the rain too and splashing in puddles like a kid, but hey, I AM a kid. :D

Alexys,
Martin Luther King Jr was a wise and loving man. I love the quotes you chose to share.

Crushed by Ingsoc 3:29 PM

The third quote is more strictly relevant to its context, but the first two will hold true in any circumstances.

Alexys Fairfield 5:08 PM

Mark,
Thank you. He was much like your goodself.

Alexys Fairfield 5:13 PM

Crushed,
Precisely and the thread that ties them all together is humanity.

-eve- 6:56 PM

He's a hero...

Alexys Fairfield 7:03 PM

Eve,
He is a hero isn't he? He has made incredible inroads for civil rights. :D
