Echo

January 16, 2008

A man and his son were walking in the forest. Suddenly the boy trips and feeling a sharp pain he screams, “Ahhhhhhhhh!”

Surprised, he hears a voice coming from the mountain, screaming, “Ahhhhhhhhh!”

Filled with curiosity, he screams, “Who are you?,” but the only answer he receives is, “Who are you?”

This makes him angry, so he screams, “You are a coward,” and the voice answers, “You are a coward.”

He looks at his father and asks, “Dad, what is going on?”

“Son,” his father replies, “Pay attention.” The father then screams, “I admire you.”

The voice answers, “I admire you.”

The father shouts, “You are wonderful”, and the voice answers, “You are wonderful.”

Then the father explains, “People call this ECHO, but truly it is LIFE. Life always gives you back what you give out. Life is a mirror of your actions. If you want more love, give more love.

If you want understanding and respect, give understanding and respect. If you want people to be patient, give patience. This rule of nature applies to every aspect of our lives.

Life always gives you back what you give out. Your life is not a coincidence, but a mirror of your own doings.”

Alexys, thank you for another great post. I love how you come up with these wonderful parables.

Kirsten,
Thanks. I didn't compose this one, it was written by my friend Anonymous, but I thank you on their behalf. :D

Hmmmmm. weird. I'm loved by my friends, greatly enjoyed and appreciated and participated with in cyber-space - and seldom valued /cherished by the men I like. How can those 3 co-exist if I am putting the same thing out to everyone ???

-eve- 5:15 AM

Another good analogy for us all, Alexys :-)

Lucid 5:29 AM

Lovely Alexys!!! For these words are true, and this is only part of the reason why we should mind ourselves every day. I only want peace and love being thrown back at me, so for today... I am sending just that!!!!

Be well :) and thanks for the uplift!

This is incredible. What a great painting of our reality. Thank you for sharing.

Good Thursday morning to you, Alexys.

Okay, so I thought some more about this post last night...

Really looked at it, and the fact is that I am afraid of men, that I judge them, avoid them, and only in very rare cases am open to them...

The pain of the last 16 years, and the 3 men who didn't love me the way I loved them, has scarred me deeply.

My work is cut out for me...

Thank you, Alexys.

Gledwood 12:05 PM

dear me that's only too true...

surely at the moment I must be echoing the most dreadful runs as that is my current affliction!

(well you did ask~!!)

Mark 12:50 PM

Alexys,
This is the first time I have heard this story! I love it! Thanks for sharing. Your writing is an echo of you!

Alexys Fairfield 4:38 PM

Hi Annie,
It is hard for me to believe that someone as loving as you would ever have any trouble finding a reciprocal partner. I sense a tenderness in your Soul that you may not have tapped into yet, but it is there like a wave that gently rumbles across the rocks. I can see how your friends love you, how could they not love your generosity and compassion?

"...seldom valued /cherished by the men I like. How can those 3 co-exist if I am putting the same thing out to everyone ?"

I would try to broach an answer by saying that you are not putting the energies out equally and that something deep inside (hurt, disappointment, unresolved pain, etc.) may be holding you back.

(This was written before I got your second comment)

Thank you for readdressing the post Annie. That showed your willingness to look within yourself with an inner microscope, if you will.

"...the fact is that I am afraid of men, that I judge them, avoid them, and only in very rare cases am open to them."

There's the rub. You have discovered the problem, now all you have to do is analyze it, inspect the nuances and reconstruct the "why."

"The pain of the last 16 years, and the 3 men who didn't love me the way I loved them, has scarred me deeply."

I am so sorry that you have been scarred and that your spirit has been decimated. You have already acknowledged the source of your pain, which is the first step to recovering your joy. It sounds like you were not appreciated fully and that your expectations were not met. You are a good, loving and genuine person and it's time to forgive yourself and give yourself permission to feel love again. We don't forget pain, and I am not mitigating the fact that your were hurt, but now I want you to let go and let God. I know that it is an arduous task, but I know you can do it. I know you can walk with love once again. I know you can open your heart to life and let it's joy fill you once more. I know you can do it. It is your right. You deserve to love and be loved.

Your work may be cut out for you, but the first cut is the deepest. :D

Remember that you are loved and that you will love again.

Blessings my dear.

Eve,
Yeah, it's one that takes some time for people to digest usually. Some may read it and say, "What." Then it will hit them and they will say, "Oh, now I get it."

Alexys Fairfield 4:47 PM

Lucid,
Since you are echoing peace and love, I am echoing it right back to you with an extra helping of blessings and a soft caress for the little bun in the oven. :D

Be well my friend.

Alexys Fairfield 4:50 PM

Surface,
It shows us how simple life is really. What we do is what we get.

Alexys Fairfield 4:54 PM

Gleds,
Thank you so much for sharing what's really inside of you - you inner Soul. Ha ha.

Take care.

Alexys Fairfield 4:56 PM

Mark,
I am glad that I that could share new stories with you. Thank you for your heart-felt words. They made my day. :D

Max 7:06 AM

Alexys,

And to think that I was going to leave this post for tomorrow: I am glad I didn't :)! I salute you for sharing such a beautiful text :)!

"Life always gives back what you give out. Your life is not a coincidence, but a mirror of your own doings." - I believe this is called Karma. One's life is the reflection of our past actions: we are here to fulfill a mission (it can be either learn something, or teach, or fulfill a special task, or pay).
Many people believe in coincidences, but (as so well said) there are no coincidences in life; instead there are synchronizations (that exist with a specific purpose).

Now, Karma is exactly what explains why some people give so much but receive so little. There are beings that give love, respect and patience but only get contempt, disrespect and intolerance...why? Probably because in a past life this person didn't give that much love, respect and patience; and now he came to do the opposite but experiences what he used to do to others...complex, huh?
But of course this is not that linear to everybody, but I have heard of cases such as this. We have to bear in mind God's eternal mercy and forgiveness :).

Indeed, this was a great post! :D

Have a blessed weekend!

Alexys Fairfield 11:34 AM

Max,
"I believe this is called Karma. One's life is the reflection of our past actions: we are here to fulfill a mission (it can be either learn something, or teach, or fulfill a special task, or pay)."

Amen my sista. Amen. Karma is an interesting thing. Many people want "good" karma, but they are not willing to earn it. They mistreat others and disrespect life and they think they deserve "good" karma. Karma is a neutral energy; like a bank account, you get what you put into it. There are really four types of karma, but most people only know of the basic one.

"Many people believe in coincidences, but (as so well said) there are no coincidences in life; instead there are synchronizations (that exist with a specific purpose)."

Love that analogy. Love it! It vibrantly caresses my brain.

"Now, Karma is exactly what explains why some people give so much but receive so little. There are beings that give love, respect and patience but only get contempt, disrespect and intolerance...why? Probably because in a past life this person didn't give that much love, respect and patience; and now he came to do the opposite but experiences what he used to do to others...complex, huh?"

Absolutely!

Thank you for adding your valuable comments to this post.

Happy weekend and happy karma darling!

Cheers.

Thank you for that wonderful and detailed answer, Alexys...

I am going to write a post - about your post - and our exchange - sometime this upcoming week.

I think this has changed my life. I know it has...

All dramtic statements aside, the truth is that here you opened up a door I'd been closed to forever... Maybe it was time...

You were the catalyst, or vehicle for it...

Thank you... I can only offer you gratitude in return, for I do not know what corresponding thing would be as significant in your life.

I wish you good things, dear Alexys, only good things. Always and in every dimension...

Genuinely,
Loving Annie

Alexys Fairfield 11:13 PM

Annie,
You have really touched my heart. I am moved that my response has changed your life.

"...you opened up a door I'd been closed to forever... Maybe it was time..."

My hand was guided by a force bigger than both of us. When there is something in the heart that is causing hurt, all we have to do is ask for it to be released and the universal force will give us the answers that we need. It may not take away the pain, but it will give us understanding to move forward and eventually the pain will subside.

I am grateful for the opportunity to shed light on something that has been causing you great distress. It gives me joy that you can take the next step.

"I do not know what corresponding thing would be as significant in your life."

Your happiness my dear.

Thank you for giving me a glimpse into your heart and trusting the universe with your Soul. Looking forward to reading the post.

Blessings.

Maithri 2:10 PM

Oh you are wonderful,

magnanimous, tender hearted and simply wonderful..

Look at the way you respond (form an echo) to people...

You are the light that burns in every heart my friend,

Loving you, M

Alexys Fairfield 7:34 PM

Maithri,
Thank you for your generous words. I can only echo what is a around me and I am always surrounded by the presence of love. It's like a magical force field that magically transforms my world. It is my duty to pass it on to all.

Thank you for your kindness and your invigorating spirit. :D

Max 7:46 AM

Dear Alexys,

I gather you had a terrific weekend :D!

"They mistreat others and disrespect life and they think they deserve "good" karma. Karma is a neutral energy; like a bank account, you get what you put into it. There are really four types of karma, but most people only know of the basic one." - so true, so true. I loved the bank account analogy: brilliant! Four types of Karma? I only know two (I mean, perhaps I know more but I don't know how formally name them)...

"Love that analogy. Love it! It vibrantly caresses my brain." - how poetic "vibrantly caresses my brain"...I love that!!

"Thank you for adding your valuable comments to this post." - my dear friend, you are most welcome *bowing*! It was my pleasure to comment this lovely post :D.

"Happy weekend and happy karma darling!" - Thank you, indeed I had a happy weekend :D. And God blesses me with a happy Karma too :).

Cheerio
