Your Soul Mission

January 5, 2008

“Your soul mission is your
reason for being,
your life purpose.
It's your calling in life -
who you feel called to be,
what you feel called to do.
Mission is an energy that
flows through you -
a drive, voice, or passion that
you cannot ignore.
It's what you know in your heart
that you must live if
you are to experience
inner peace and harmony.”

So beautiful,

Perfect words for a new year.

When we live our lives in purpose, in the flow, everything is suddenly possible.

Thanks so much for all the gracious wisdom you share with us all dear sister,

Love and deep peace, M

Amazing! Once again, you have the knack for posting on issues I've been thinking about. A life with a purpose and a connection to the soul is like when the film in the Wizard of Oz transitions from black and white to color--life acquires a brightness, urgency, and a sense of adventure.

Maithri,
I think new years should start with a blast. Thank you for helping me get off to a good start. I appreciate the beautiful blessing called, "Maithri."

Warm ((((hugs)))) my friend.

Kirsten,
Bloggers mind often think alike don't they? I love your Wizard of Oz analogy. A purposeful life does come alive in color and a soulless life keeps us face down in the mire.

Happy New Year. All the best in 2008 and blessings for the days ahead. :D

Yes.

Once again, you lift me from the doldrums.

:) You have a happy knack of hitting the spot.

Alexys Fairfield 1:11 PM

Crushed,
Thanks. I just know that we all need upliftment from time to time (not in a Pamela Lee kind of way though. ;D)

The natural gravity of emotion weighs us down sometimes.

Btw, did you know that if you're ever in quicksand, you can survive if you lie on your back and lift both legs up. True.

Loving Annie 6:49 PM

For me, it is learnign to be loving to myself - and thus to be soft and loving with others.

Alexys Fairfield 8:26 PM

Annie,
That's a good motto to have. Love does soften the heart and the world. All we need is love. :D

Blessings.

Hello Alexys,

I won't say what a coincidence, cause I don't belive in coincidences; but I will say: what an appropriate theme! I spent the whole day, yesterday, discussing the sense of mission..what we came to do; what is our task on earth etc.

The image to this post is splendid: I love it :)! It made me think that when we leave Home (where all the souls are) we must catch a boat or something; and then at the small peer a wise man pads us on the back and says "don't forget, don't come back until you complete your mission! You know God doesn't like incomplete tasks!" lol.

I must agree with the poem when it says "Your soul mission is your reason for being, your life purpose": indeed, we are here only because we have a mission (it may be to learn something new, to perform a task, to influence somebody or country etc) to complete; and it is a shame that most people don't know this. Once we become aware of this concept, life becomes easier to cope with; since our minds start looking for that mission, for its definition and details on it (and design the best way of completing it).

This is a gorgeous poem, look at this "It's what you know in your heart that you must live if you are to experience inner peace and harmony"...we all know, but most don't listen! Those who do reach a sense of Nirvana...they become people of Ren (beautiful)!

It was a pleasure to drop by, as always, Alexys :D! I gather the week is going well for you :).

Cheers

Max,
One's mission is so vital, yet so many people wander aimlessly around the plains searching for signs of life and checking for vital signs.

Good analogy. We all leave our home just to come back with bags of knowledge and experience that we have gathered on our journey. The next step is to teach what we have learned, passing on the knowledge increases our knowledge and the knowledge of the world.

"...we are here only because we have a mission (it may be to learn something new, to perform a task, to influence somebody or country etc) to complete; and it is a shame that most people don't know this."

This is so true. Aren't you curious as to how people become aware of their mission?

"Those who do reach a sense of Nirvana...they become people of Ren (beautiful)!"

That is beautiful. Does our Nirvana makes us beautiful or does our realization make Nirvana beautiful?

The week has just begun and I already see the signs of beauty.

Of course, I am talking about you. ;D

Alexys,

"One's mission is so vital, yet so many people wander aimlessly around the plains searching for signs of life and checking for vital signs." - this is great (besides true). It is so wonderfully written..."signs of life" and "vital signs" you have used an antanaclasis here: I am impressed :)!

"Good analogy. We all leave our home just to come back with bags of knowledge and experience that we have gathered on our journey. The next step is to teach what we have learned, passing on the knowledge increases our knowledge and the knowledge of the world." - indeed! I truly believe in this...all we take once we pass away is our memory, our knowledge, all that we came to teach and learn...that's all the bags we are allowed to take (Thank God I don't buy Louis Vuitton...spend all that money on an ugly brown bag and then leave it behind? LOL LOL)...

"This is so true. Aren't you curious as to how people become aware of their mission?" - I am, I am...I have heard that some become aware of it through dreams, others through meditation..and others in the bus; others upon some life event...what it counts is that they become aware of it :).

"That is beautiful. Does our Nirvana makes us beautiful or does our realization make Nirvana beautiful?" - Humm...I think that our Nirvana makes us beautiful; cause our light changes, our energy changes...giving the impression that we are more beautiful :). Nirvana has no physical features, so it can't be beautiful lol...but experiencing it can build around us a field of beauty.

I am so glad that the week is going well for you :)...as always :D!

"Of course, I am talking about you. ;D" - LOL you are kind *bowing*! But thank you :D...you are not so bad yourself (I really loved your comment on my blog: smashing!!!)!

Cheers

Thank you Max. I didn't realize that I used antanaclasis until you pointed it out. You ARE on your P's and Q's - I am impressed my dear. (That's an analogy for being very sharp; just incase you haven't heard of it.)

"Thank God I don't buy Louis Vuitton...spend all that money on an ugly brown bag and then leave it behind? LOL LOL.."

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha.!

"I am, I am...I have heard that some become aware of it through dreams, others through meditation..and others in the bus; others upon some life event...what it counts is that they become aware of it :)."

Yes, whatever happens to them, whatever epiphany happens is what counts.

"I think that our Nirvana makes us beautiful; cause our light changes, our energy changes...giving the impression that we are more beautiful :). Nirvana has no physical features, so it can't be beautiful lol...but experiencing it can build around us a field of beauty."

Another poetic analogy my dear. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Cheers.

(That's an analogy for being very sharp; just incase you haven't heard of it.)" - it happens with writers (they don't realise the figures of speech they use when writing); that is why I don't understand when in literature classes professors told us what the writer meant by using x and y literary device (many times I thought "maybe the writer didn't even realise he/she used it, or even meant that") lol *nodding*. LOL to tell you the truth I had never heard of that analogy; thank you for the lesson *bowing* :)! And thanks for the compliment :D!

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha.!" - lol lol :)

"Yes, whatever happens to them, whatever epiphany happens is what counts." - amen!

"Another poetic analogy my dear. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." - you are most welcome *bow*! :D

It is a true pleasure to converse with you, my dear :D!

Cheers

This happens too with film/art/literature critics. They find things that aren't necessarily there to justify their job. I don't think that one can't really judge or analyze art unless one speaks to the artists and asks, "What did you mean by that? Why did you choose that subject, color, texture, etc." Artists just emulate the beauty in their Soul. I think if we could speak to some of the great master artists today and then compare their answers to the critics analysis, the critics would be way off.

You're awesome girl.

Cheers.

Max 7:43 AM

Hello Alexys,

I know what you mean! Critics start giving their consensual truth on the artist's work and then don't even realise that they might be insulting both the artistic work and the artist *nodding*.
I agree with you "one can't really judge or analyze art unless one speaks to the artists"; otherwise how can they know what was going through the artist's mind, what were his/her feelings when he/she created his/her "baby"? I think that most critics are disrespectful; and they think they are gods (creating and destroying artists) *nodding*. Who empowers these people?

"I think if we could speak to some of the great master artists today and then compare their answers to the critics analysis, the critics would be way off." - Absolutely!!

*blushing*...thanks :)!

Cheers
